This past week marked the final session of our 10-week Science By The Sea class at Lovers Key State Park , and it was more than just a wrap-up. Over the previous nine weeks, students explored mangroves, marine life, water quality, weather patterns, and human impact on coastal ecosystems. Eight days ago, we showed up at the Gravel Tour Wake Competition with an entire team made up of first-time competitors from Wake the Wild. The Students and Coaches were equally stoked for the day! We started offering School of Wake with Kirby in October, and in just six short months, we’ve watched many of these students go from stepping onto a boat for the very first time, learning how to stand up, hold the rope, and find their balance, to now riding with skill and confide
